Allow us to introduce the Aparna Sarovar Ganesh Utsav Samiti—a humble endeavor that began in 2011. Our aspiration? To honor the Ganesh festival in its most traditional form, fostering togetherness and community bonds among Sarovarites.
In the heart of it all stands Sarovar Ganesha—a cherished addition to Aparna Sarovar’s festivities. It has seamlessly woven itself into our celebrations, becoming an inseparable thread. This festival serves as a beautiful platform for everyone in our community to come together, socialize, and showcase the incredible talents of both the young and the wise.
Sarovar Ganesha symbolizes the unity found in our diversity. Regardless of age, gender, or belief, people from all walks of life converge to partake in these celebrations. It’s a harmonious symphony of souls.
The Samiti, born with a small group contributing donations, has matured into a nurturing institution with the generosity of our residents. For years now, we’ve been orchestrating the Ganesh Utsav, uniting children, adults, and seniors beneath one roof. Each member contributes their devotion and joy, each generation teaches and learns.
Children grasp the significance of safeguarding our environment and the five elements, celebrating the festival with an enthusiasm that’s truly infectious. Their involvement—from molding clay Ganesha to the grand immersion procession—imbues them with the wisdom of life’s cycles.
Our seniors are equally engaged, participating in bhajans, devotional songs, drama, and games that stir memories of their own childhoods.
But there’s more! Our cultural repertoire is a spectrum of life, with live stage dramas, soul-stirring orchestra performances, and a kaleidoscope of India’s dance forms. Devotional activities like Kumkumarchana, Ganapati Homam, and Rudrabhishekam are woven into the fabric of our 5-day Ganesh pooja.
With Ganesha’s blessings and the support of our generous donors and laddu auction victors, the Samiti has flourished. We’ve grown into a dedicated team, ready to welcome thousands of devotees to our pandal each year.
